It was great from beginning to end! I was so excited! This was my first Barry concert and there was a lot going on . Barry did a lot of my favorites and I watched through binoculars as my sister and I were sitting in the back part of the lower seating bowl right near the camera. Barry did a great job. Loved his stories and his singing. Thank you, Barry, for a first concert experience... I know sitting in the back I couldn't meet you on stage for the dance, but I did get to see you sing in person after trying to see you for seven years. God blessings on you. - Diana Goetsch (Ottawa, Illinois) (4/23/2016) Barry, in his style, seems to be singing to you, as if he knew you! It makes you wish that you had a friend or spouse, that was 'just like that!' Since the concert, I have bought any DVD, book, and merchandise item that I can find. His charisma inspires, uplifts, and makes you just love him! I am even at 60, wanting to now learn to play the piano! - Christina L. Vogel (Peoria, Illinois) (5/10/2016) This show was certainly one to remember, a stop on the One Last Time! tour. The night started off on a very fun note with Dave Koz and his band opening the show. Very good set from them. Manilow hit the stage and of course did a bunch of hits back-to-back to kick off his set. I don't remember which song it was (it might have been 'Looks Like We Made It'), but there was a descending platform at the front of the stage and he came down into the crowd and brought a lady down the row from us in the front row up on stage and slow-danced with her for a little bit. A little later, he went stage left and sang a cut from his first album, "I Am Your Child." We were so close to him we could have reached up from our seats and touched him. He was hot off the heels of releasing his "My Dream Duets" record, so of course he did a cut off of it. He chose "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart" by Judy Garland and had her video and audio doing the song with him. During "Weekend in New England," when he got to the line, "When can I touch you," my mother, who was next to me in the front row, tapped me on the shoulder and then proceeded to yell, "Now, Barry!!" just like someone did on the Ultimate Manilow television special. Barry STOPPED MID-SONG and, with a smile on his face, said "Thank you," and continued the song. He later did his cover of "Let's Hang On" by Frankie Valli, then duet'ed with himself on "Mandy" with the video of him on the Midnight Special. He then proceeded to do a medley of 12-15 of his hits and he intro'ed it by stating, "For all my fans out there, you're going to love this, and for those of you who were dragged here tonight, this medley is going to be agony!!" The last song in the medley ("Daybreak") segued into "I Write the Songs" and that's when we knew the show was in the last stretch. This was a fantastic show and I wouldn't have changed anything about it. - Logan Allen (Champaign, Illinois) (7/11/2021) Don't miss Barry Manilow, and special guest, Dave Koz! With his band of 13 musicians and singers, Manilow said, “We’re having a great time putting the show together. We hope to take everyone on an emotional roller coaster. I can’t wait to see everyone dancing in the aisles.” After performing more than 400 concerts at the Las Vegas Hilton and Paris Las Vegas from 2005 through 2011, Manilow has limited his concert appearances. The ONE LAST TIME! Tour is a major undertaking and as Manilow said, “is my way of thanking everyone for their years of support…one last time!” General information about the ONE LAST TIME! Tour is available at www.manilow.com. For more information on Dave Koz, click here. |
