![]() Hi Everyone, This month’s MTV is a wonderful two act concert that we did at Radio City in New York in 1993. We thought it would be appropriate to show this one since we’re heading back to Radio City very soon. We were on tour with the “Greatest Hits” tour. The show was in great shape and the audience was on fire. You know, we’ve made a video of every show we’ve done since videos came to be. There are hundreds of them and every month my great associate and friend, Marc Hulett digs into the vault and watches the shows and selects one or two for me to see. He takes this project very seriously and finds concert gems every month. I really don’t know how he’s not sick of me by now. Many of the videos are in terrible shape. The video’s are either too dark or too light or the camera was too far away or too close. Or the audio on many of them are hard to hear. Recently, we’ve asked our associate Chris Walters to give us a hand and he too, dives in and helps Marc to make these video’s watchable. Really, I couldn’t be more grateful to them for being so committed to putting together a concert a month. Well, this month’s MTV is one of the finest quality video that I’ve watched in a long time. The audio and video are clear and exciting to listen and watch. The band and singers sound great. And I’m just fabulous! This month’s show is one that I think you should tell everybody you know to see. My dear friend Debra Byrd, who I will miss until my last breath, is at her best doing Diana Ross and Gladys Knight while I goof it up with the boys playing the Supremilows and the Pipilows. And the ending – oh my dear, that ending! Wait until you get a load of the size of the choir singing their hearts out on “I Write The Songs”, “One Voice” and “Let Freedom Ring”. My favorite part is during the encores when Marc, our cameraman for this show, nearly falls over trying keep the camera showing picture as the audience jump to their feet. For a few minutes you see the ceiling of Radio City and then the floor of Radio City and the backs of people’s heads. And you just know that Marc cursing under his breath. This video just may be my favorite one for MTV. Thanks, Marc. Thanks Chris. And thanks to all of you for sticking with me all these years. I just know you’re going to flip over this concert video. All my love,
