Hi everyone!
I can't tell you how glad I am to be home. But I miss my band, my crew, and you! I guess I can't have everything. At first it was pretty boring. I now know when Judge Judy is on TV. Whoopie! So, I dove into my studio and decided to make two albums. Making them is taking a lot of time and I'm feeling very creative. The first album, the "little" one, called "Night Songs", is the most intimate album I've ever made. Just me playing the piano, bass, and singing. That's it. The songs I've chosen are a batch of my favorite standards, most of them not very famous, but fantastic songs by fantastic songwriters. I guess that means they're un-standard standards? "Night Songs" reminds me of how I began. Late nights. Smokey rooms. Playing in bars all over New York and Chicago. I'm loving putting it together. Very sexy. Very romantic. Very "Paradise Café", but different. I don't think it will compete with "booty-licious", but it's a really great one. I hope you'll like it. The second one? Well, it's totally different. And it's going to take a while. I'll tell you more once I get past the demo stage and I know the idea is going to work. In the meantime, I'll keep on dreaming. Later, my friends Barry |
