(Note from Barry about another Song from the Manilow Vault)
Here's an outtake from the "Barry" album. "Friend Of The Devil" is very far away from the feel-good songs I'd been recording. Adrienne Anderson's lyric is angry and outraged. My melody represents the ups and downs of being betrayed. And our production is powerful and daring. It wasn't the right time to record such a drastic change in style so the song has stayed in "the trunk" for all these years. I'm glad I can share this one with you. Barry |
