Hi Everybody, it's Barry...
Here I am again with the latest and greatest update. First of all, a Happy New Year, and I hope you had a great New Year and a great Christmas holiday. I certainly did! I thank you so much for getting behind [the Christmas] album. It was such a joy to go on these TV shows and sing these great, great arrangements of these wonderful songs. The only regret I have is that I never got to sing "My Favorite Things" ... what a wild arrangement that is! Maybe next time...
I have a favor to ask of all of you. We're putting this Live album out as you know ("2 Nights Live!") and it's turning out great. By the way, we've postponed the release of it for a couple of months. I'm not ready with it ... I know some of the songs got out on Tower Records or whatever it is, but don't believe anything you read until it comes from us. But anyway I'm still tinkering with it, and it's great. We're putting this booklet together that goes with the Live CD, and what I was thinking of would be [if] this Live CD represented 30 years of touring. It's really a wonderful moment in my career, and I was hoping that we could put in pictures from every single tour. I could probably go through the Stiletto warehouse and be bombarded and find everything that we've ever done, but I think it would be easier for all of us (for me) and probably better if you guys sent me these photos.
c/o BMIFC P.O. Box 45378 Los Angeles, CA 90045 I bet you have fantastic photos that represent every tour, so if you happen to have them available, would you send photos that represent every tour, in your opinion. If you do, make sure you put your name on the back and the name/year of the tour so that we could put in chronological order what we all looked like year after year for all of these tours. I know that some of you have taken fantastic photos of Debra, Gina, Billy Kidd ...and myself, and they're all great...
The Diane Schuur album is just terrific, we're just about finished up with it. I think you're really going to love it.
The biggest news is that "Harmony" is actually going on its feet. It will open in the middle of October, at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It'll be there for three months through New Year's Eve, through January and then we'll hopefully move into a theatre in New York so we're all so excited about that. As you know "Harmony" is like the project of my life so cross your fingers and maybe I'll see you there. Anyway, thank you very much ... I love you all. Happy New Year and have a Great Year!! |
