"Clive Davis Sets Date for Second Virtual Grammy Event: The May 15 virtual event will serve as a benefit for the Grammy Museum" by Chris Gardner
The Hollywood Reporter, 20 April 2021

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Clive Davis (pictured below) announced in January that he would be dividing his iconic pre-Grammy Awards bash into two separate virtual productions, one scheduled for Jan. 30 and the other for March 13 on the eve of the telecast. The first event hosted more than 2,000 guests including Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Sean Combs, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and John Legend while raising money for MusiCares. The March benefit got postponed in February when Davis revealed that he had been diagnosed with Bell's palsy, a condition characterized by muscle weakness that often causes one side of the face to droop. Now that he's made progress on the road to a full recovery, Davis has revealed that he'll pick back up where he left off with a second installment of the star-packed virtual event. It is back on the calendar for May 15 and will benefit the Grammy Museum. Expected to appear are Elton John, Paul Simon, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Joni Mitchell, John Mellencamp, Carlos Santana, Rob Thomas, Berry Gordy, Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, Earth Wind & Fire, Slash, Dave Grohl, Oprah Winfrey, H.E.R. and DaBaby. Similar to the January event, the virtual gathering is designed to celebrate "the greatest live performances of all time" as curated by the music mogul. “Part I was truly memorable...a special lifetime night," Davis said in a statement. "You just won’t believe what we have in store for PART II. I am deeply privileged to be joined by some of the greatest artists ever while paying tribute to several of the most electrifying live performances in music history.”
