Referring to Barry's "Manilow Sings Sinatra", Nancy responded, "There's nothing wrong with your album either, kiddo. It's great!" June 17, 1999 | California/ Beverly Hills (Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel) | Barry Manilow received the Humanitarian Award from the Friends of Sheba Medical Center! The Sheba Foundation, a non-profit organization in Israel supporting the Ethiopian Jewish community of Israel, chose to honor me for their yearly dinner in 1999. It was definitely an honor and a wonderful evening. I had no idea who was asked to perform or speak, so as each guest took the stage it was a big surprise to me. The evening kept getting more and more emotional for me and by the time I got up on the stage to thank everyone, I was speechless. The performers and speakers were very special. - Barry Manilow, May 2016 (See PRESS RELEASE below for details)[ Manilow TV Episode #77 aired May 2016 ] |
