My story is of a sad nature... I have loved Barry Manilow's music since the 1970's. I finally purchased my tickets for the performance in Ft. Myers... I was scheduled for an operation on January 20th, but I rescheduled it so I could attend [the concert]. I was so excited, everything set to go. Except life throws things at you and my husband's daughter passed away on Jan 20th, 2014, at age 42. I still cannot believe it! We immediately jumped in the car and left for Chicago, where I lived for 52 years and served as a Chicago Police Officer and my husband as a Chicago firefighter. It was the saddest time. She fought breast cancer, but lost. I am a breast cancer survivor and at that point I wanted to know why she was taken and not me... I just saw Mr. Manilow 's performance on The View and it brought tears to my eyes. I hope he will be appearing somewhere near me soon. It is still on my bucket list. The song he sang the duet with the late Whitney Houston will be the song I sing to my husband on our 38th anniversary in November. My favorite is "Can't Smile Without You"! I hope one day to get to hear Barry live! Thank you, Barry, for all the years. I donated the (Ft. Myers) tickets to a worthy couple. They had a Great Time and for that I am grateful. - Francine (of Ft. Myers, Florida) (10/28/2014)

Although I would consider myself to be a Fanilow, I am not one of your long standing fans as I only discovered the magic of you and your music this year. But even in this short span of time your music has touched my heart, I have made some special friends and created memories that I will treasure forever. How did this happen you might ask? My husband and I were deciding what to do to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary (June 3rd 2014). Through searching the internet we discovered you were touring the UK so we decided to go to your Cardiff concert as part of our anniversary celebrations. Although we both knew and loved your hit songs we haven't been followers of your music through the years so in the run up to the concert we decided to buy some CDs and DVDs to catch up with the music you have been creating. Well what can I say, Barry? This is where our journey begins!

Having seen the DVDs and followed your Facebook page in the run up to the concert we kind of knew what to expect but nothing prepared us for what we experienced on that night! Being there in the crowd, seeing all those glow sticks waving around, feeling the excitement and love of the fans and hearing Dave Koz was just mind-blowing, and all this before you had even stepped onto the stage! What a grand entrance Barry!! Loved all those jazzy jackets, just loved the part when you flashed us your sparkling red jacket and pretended to play the clarinet, what a sense of fun and great humour you have! And Oh Boy can you hold a note!! Those love ballads so powerful, the one that always gets me is "Even Now," not sure where you go with this song, Barry, but you always sing this song with such feeling as if it touches you personally in some way, just amazing! There are so many memorable moments from that night like when you got up on the piano and started dancing. I was so afraid you were going to fall, but of course you didn't and Kye helped you get back down again. You sang us all the old songs and introduced us to a song from Harmony (Now that's a play I would love to see any chance you would bring Harmony to the UK!?). You transported me back in time when you sang and danced to "Sweet Heaven," I could just see you there in your white tuxedo walking down the steps of the Copacabana stage. Throughout the concerts we all danced, sang and waved our glow sticks in the air, what a night! Then, just as you came onto the stage with a big entrance, you ended the show with streamers being fired in the air. The crowd went crazy and we didn't want the night to end! But of course it did, but the memories of that night will live on in our hearts forever.

Barry, we thank you for helping to make our anniversary celebrations so special. Hoping that one day soon you'll come back to the UK again, from your fan across the pond! - Gloria Fry (Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom) (9/28/2014)
