Hi Everybody, The big challenge in making an album like this would be to separate the artists vocal track from the accompanying orchestra tracks. Since the 1970’s, the artist’s vocals are recorded on a separate track and the orchestra or band is recorded on other individual tracks. But most of the singers and songs I had chosen were recorded before multi-track records were made. During those days, a singer would stand in the middle of the room singing with the orchestra playing at the same time. So on most of my choices, the vocals and the orchestras were all together. In order to make a record like this, the vocals would have to somehow be separated from the orchestra. In my next post I'll tell you how we were able to make that happen.
